"Stronger Than The Truth" - a new album of Reba McEntire (My Review) [English Version]

Hey 😉

I haven't  written for the last months because I had to focus on defending my master's thesis. Officially, I can write that I defended myself for the highest grade. Now I can devote more time to writing a blog.

The album "Stronger Than The Truth" was released on 5 April 2019 (I know that it has been several months since its release, but before that I had no time 😊). This is a 33 album released by Reba McEntire. It consists of 14 tracks (Deluxe version):

 1. Swing All Night Long With You - the musical arrangement of this song is reminiscent of the compositions from the 70's and 80's. I like it very much, because I have not heard such an interestingly used musical instruments for a long time.

2. Stronger Than The Truth - I  can write that it is a song about unsuccessful love. The artist's voice is very poignant and moving.

 3. Storm In A Shot Glass - in this song you can hear an energetic musical arrangement that reminds me a bit of the song "Maggie Creek Road" from the record of the singer "Keep On Lovin You" (2009).

4. Tammy Wynette Kind Of Pain - this song refers to the songs of another well-known artist Tammy Wynette, who in her life has gone through many difficult moments. Listening to this song, you can see that Reba McEntire also experienced difficult situations in private life. It is a very calm and beautiful composition that you want to listen to constantly.

 5. Cactus In A Coffee Can - this is a cover of the song of another artist Jerry Kilgore. Personally, I like this song that presents a sad story. I am glad that the artist decided to record it, because her voice perfectly reflects emotions.

6. Your Heart - I like the intro of the song and the whole musical arrangement used here. This is my next favorite song from this album.

 7. The Clown - you can hear here a calm and interesting musical composition. The work is very moving, which "tells" about failures in love and life, and people often hide their feelings in such situations. The artist's voice perfectly captures the emotions that arise here.

8. No U In Oklahoma - it is worth noting that the work was co-composed by well-known artist Ronnie Dunn (who forms the duo Brooks & Dunn). I like the musical arrangement used in this song and the instruments.

 9. The Bar's Getting Lower - you can hear here another song about unfulfilled dreams and love.

10. In His Mind - in my opinion it is the best song on this album. The composition is very moving. Same as Reby McEntire's vocal.

11. Freedom - this is 1 single promoting this album. The song "tells" about the freedom that is possible thanks to those who fight for it (especially in the US it is a popular topic in the songs). It is worth paying attention to the energetic musical arrangement that is used here.

12. You Never Gave Up On Me - the artist dedicated this composition to her mother, who supported her throughout her musical career. I like the quiet musical arrangement, and the singer's voice sounds great.

 13. While You Were Sleeping * - I really like the musical arrangement used here. You can notice the changing tempo of the song, which makes it not monotonous.

14. Is not Got Nothin 'On My Pain * - another song with an energetic musical arrangement. However, I personally don't like this song.

* Tracks available for the Deluxe version

Reba McEntire was right when she said that this album would contain "real Country" in contrast to her previous albums. It's rare that I like almost all songs, and here it happened. It is noteworthy that, choosing songs, the artist sought songs that would move her heart. In my opinion, she made a great choice because listening to this CD was accompanied by various emotions, and Reba McEntire proved that she is called the Country Queen not without reason.

I rate this album at 5/5.
