"What You See Is What You Get" - album of Luke Combs (My Review) [English Version]

Hey 😉

In this post I will write about Luke Combs's new album "What You See Is What You Get" released on November 8, 2019.

The album consists of 17 tracks:

1. Beer Never Broke My Heart * - this is a nice song with energetic musical arrangement. Cool song for a party.

2. Refrigerator Door * - I personally like this song, which "talks" about passing time and events and only the pictures remind about them. It can be said that it is a bit nostalgic song with a nice sound of musical instruments.

3. Even Though I'm Leaving * - in my opinion this is the best composition you can hear on this album. This is a very touching song and the vocalist's voice reflects emotions very well.

4. Lovin 'On You * - another energetic song about love. I like the musical arrangement used here (especially the guitar sound). The music style of the song reminds me more of Rock than Country, but it's nice to listen to.

5. Moon Over Mexico * - I like the song's intro. You can listen to this composition over and over again.

6. 1,2 Many (feat. Brooks & Dunn) - I like energetic music arrangement. I really like that the artist is performing this song with Brooks & Dunn, which I think complement each other. I have the impression that I'm listening to Country song from the 90s. The voices of the artists complement each other perfectly.

7. Blue Collar Boys - cool, energetic musical arrangement. In my opinion a little nostalgic.

8. New Every Day - I think this is a wonderful and moving song that "says" that every goodbye (breaking up with a loved one) teaches us something.

9. Reasons - another great composition that you can listen to all the time.

10. Every Little Bit Helps - nice music arrangement. Words are catchy.

11. Dear Today - I like the intro and peaceful musical arrangement of this song. In my opinion it is a touching song. Here you can hear simplicity in the instruments used (guitars, drums, etc.)

12. What You See Is What You Get - energetic musical arrangement, but this song has the message that "What you see is what you take (receive)". Personally, I like this song.

13. Does To Me (feat. Eric Church) - is a duet with Eric Church who is a recognized artist Country. Somehow this song doesn't appeal to me.

14. Angels Workin 'Overtime - cool intro. I like the musical arrangement of this composition.

15. All Over Again - I like electric guitars in this song. I like that this is a song about breaking up (?), It is not a typical sad song.

16. Nothing Like You - you can immediately hear that this is a nostalgic song where the narrator misses his loved one. You can hear it in the artist's voice, which makes the song very touching.

17. Better Together - an interesting musical arrangement. Here again you can hear the moving voice of Luke, who along with this musical arrangement makes you want to listen to this composition all the time.

* Songs appeared on EP artist "The Prequel"

Luke Combs has a wonderful voice reminiscent of Country artists from the 90s, which you want to listen all the time. The fact that he co-composed all the songs on this album shows his vocal, music and writing talent. It is a pity that he put 5 songs from the previous EP instead of showing new songs.

I rate this album 4/5
