"The Rest Of Our Life" - a joint album by Tim McGraw and Faith Hill (My Review) [English Version]

Hey 😉

Today is the last day of my week break from college😢. But yet 2 months and I will have holidays😁.

In today's post I want to discuss the album of Tim McGraw and Faith Hill "The Rest of Our Life" released on November 17, 2017. This is the first joint album of artists (and marriages after 21 years).

Tim and Faith have already recorded duets for their solo albums. At the end of April, they will tour  called "Soul2Soul World Tour 2018". This will be the second part of their concerts (the first took place in 2017). I hope they will add concerts in Europe and I will be able to see them live 😍.
The love between artists began in 1996 during Tim's tour called "Spontaneous Combustion."
For over 20 years, from time to time, they recorded joint songs that quickly became hits in the USA. However, at last we can only hear the duos by them.

"The Rest of Our Life" consists of 11 songs:
1. The Rest of Our Life - this is the 2 single promoting this album. One of the authors of this work is well-known artist Ed Sheeran. I think it's one of the better songs on this album. The artists complement each other in this composition. Noteworthy is the music clip that was created for this song.

2. Telluride - I really like this song because it reminds me of the 90's country. The song is very energetic and cheerful. However, I love the sound of the instruments used here the most
and generally the whole musical arrangement. I think it's a good song for the next single.

3. The Bed We Made - I honestly do not like this song, even though it was written by Lorrie McKenna - the author of Tim's big hit "Humble And Kind". Artists should choose a different song for the album.

4. Cowboy Lullaby - great composition. I love Tim's voice in verses. I think,
that the song suits him perfectly. The musical arrangement of the piece is wonderful in my opinion.

5. Break First - my favorite song from this album. It reminds me of an earlier song by artists "Like We Never Loved At All" from the album Faith Hill "Fireflies (2005) .I love compositions about feelings and emotions." Here we hear a "story" about unrequited love and breakup. I hope that the song will be chosen on another single.

6. Love Me To Lie - beautiful song. In this composition Faith Hill "shows" the strength of her voice. The music arrangement is great. I like the simplicity of this composition the most (I mean the use of instruments).
7. Sleeping In The Stars - a very moving composition. I can say that even nostalgic. It touches on a very difficult topic which is the death of a loved one. When I heard her for the first time, I started to cry, which rarely happens to me.

8. Damn Good At Holding On - a great match for Tim and Faith who have been married for over 20 years. I like the use of instruments.

9. Devil Callin 'Me Back - my next favorite song, because it is different than those we always hear in the performance of musicians. She is very energetic and has a fast pace, which I like very much.

10. Speak To A Girl - 1 single promoting the album. It is a great composition with the message that every woman deserves to be treated with respect. I love the word game used here in the first two lines of the song. The voices of Faith and Tim sound great here. The artists themselves admitted that they chose this song for their 3 daughters.

11. Roll The Dice - again we can hear an unusual musical arrangement in this song. However, it is not my favorite.

To sum up, as a fan of these artists, I'm happy that they recorded a joint album. Most of the compositions on it are in my opinion great. However, honestly I would like to hear more songs at this album. I don’t lose hope, that they will record a joint album again in the future.

I encourage you to comment. Maybe you have some of your favorite albums that you would like to share with me ??

AP.
