"Cry Pretty" - a brand new album by Carrie Underwood (My Review) [English Version]

Carrie Underwood gained popularity in 2005 when she won the 4th season of American Idol. In the same year she released her debut album "Some Hearts", which turned out to be a great success as well as her next albums "Carnival Ride" (2007), "Play On" (2009), "Blown Away" (2012), "Greatest Hits: Decade #1" (2014) and "Storyteller" (2015). Carrie is the winner of many awards including Grammy Awards, CMA Awards, American Music Awards and ACM Awards.



"Cry Pretty" is the artist's 6th album, which was released on September 14, 2018. The CD consists of 13 tracks:

1. Cry Pretty - this is 1 single promoting this album. Personally, I love this song. Great musical arrangement and Carrie's strong voice make it possible to listen to this track all the time. I like the sound of guitars here.



2. Ghosts On The Stereo - I really like the musical arrangement of this song. There is a reference to the late country artists: George Jones, Merle Haggard and Hank Williams.

3. Low - this is a sad song. Carrie's voice in this composition is very moving. I like the changing tempo of the music so the song  isn't monotonous.

4. Backsliding - I love the intro of this track. A beautiful song about a couple, who break - up, but they can't forget about each other and continue to meet each other. I believe that this is one of the better compositions on this album.

5. Southbound - a nice energetic song. In my opinion it's perfect for parties. The words are very catchy.

6. That Song That We Used To Make Love To - at the beginning I don't like this track, but then I came to the conclusion that the song has potential. Nice musical arrangement.

7. Drinking Alone - another song about break - up, or rather how you can cheer yourself after it.

8. The Bullet - a very moving composition about the loss of a loved one. The artist's voice sounds great in this song. Personally, I think this is another great track on this album.

9. Spinning Bottles - another sad song on this CD. Carrie's voice is very moving. I like the quiet musical arrangement that has been used here.

10. Love Wins - this is the 2 single promoting this album. I really like this track and the message that "love wins". It's worth paying attention to the wonderful video that was created for this song.



11. End Up With You - nice musical arrangement and words are very catchy. However, I believe that there were definitely other better songs that could have been put on this album.

12. Kingdom - a beautiful song about that if you want to, you can create a lasting relationship, even if everything in life doesn't go well.

13. Champion - it's a duo with rapper Ludacris. Very cool and energetic composition about that peoples can achieve all their goals.



I think that "Cry Pretty" is the best album of all that Carrie Underwood has released. It's also worth adding that the artist co-composed 9 tracks from this CD. In some of the songs you can hear the singer's powerful, wide - ranging voice, and in some of them she sing poignantly and calmly. That's why I really like this album because each composition is different from previous one.
