27 Years Ago Tim McGraw released his debut album... "Tim McGraw" (Review) [English Version]
Hey 😉
Everyone who has read my previous posts knows that I love Tim McGraw 😍. I like a lot of Country music artists, but I have a fondness for Tim. Maybe it's because of his great voice that I could listen to all the time or his ability to choose (not always) great songs. The artist has something about him that even after a few months of not listening to his songs (when I get excited about someone else like Bryan Adams 😃), when I start doing it again I feel like I'm listening to them for the first time and discovering something new in them.
Back to the topic of posture. On April 20, 1993 (I know I was 1 day late 😂) the singer released his debut album "Tim McGraw", which consists of 10 songs:
1. Welcome To The Club - 2 single promoting this album. I like the intro of the song. The words are catchy.
2. Two Steppin' Mind - 3 single promoting the album. I like the sound of musical instruments used here.
3. The Only Thing That I Have Left - originally recorded by George Strait for his album "Strait From The Heart". (1982). It's hard for me to determine which version sounds better because both artists have their own style of performing. Both versions are good.
4th You Can Take It With You (When You Go) - in my opinion the intro is similar to the beginning of the song "Two Steppin' Mind", but the words are catchy. I like the sound of guitars (electric?).
5. Ain't No Angel - nice musical arrangement.
6. Memory Lane - 4 single promoting this album. One of the composers of this song was recently deceased musician Joe Diffie. Catchy lyrics and cool music arrangement make it possible to listen to this composition all the time.
7. Tears In The Rain - this is my favorite song from this album. It is very different from previous songs in terms of musical arrangement and composition tempo. Also co-written by Joe Diffie.
8. What She Left Behind - nice musical arrangement, the lyrics are catchy.
9. What Room Was The Holiday In - 1 single promoting the album. I like the intro of the song, although it reminds me a little of the previous one.
10. I Keep It Under My Hat - in my opinion it is one of the best compositions from this album. I like the calm pace of the song and the musical arrangement.
Tim McGraw's musical career began with the death of Country music artist Keith Whistley in 1989. Tim moved to Nashville in the same year to record his songs. This album was recorded between 1991 and 1993. The album was not very successful, but the singer did not give up his dreams and not a whole year later he released the album "Not A Moment Too Soon". (1994), thanks to which he gained recognition in the music industry and among fans. I will write with a heartbreak that I am not surprised by the lack of success of McGraw's debut album, because in my opinion this album is... boring. Now probably many of his fans are angry with me for those words, but I feel so. Every time I thought about this CD I only associated the songs "Memory Lane" and "I Keep Under My Hat" and nothing else. I understand that in those days there were different ways of making music, and people's tastes were different than today. However, it's worth noting the development that Tim McGraw has achieved both vocally and in terms of musical style/collection of tracks for his albums.
Reading this review you may be bored because I wrote about either the musical arrangement or catchy words, but it is hard to judge the album released almost 30 years ago. I'm very happy that Tim hasn't given up his musical career and we can still listen to his wonderful voice. I hope that soon we will hear new songs in his performance 😁.
I rate this album as 3/5.
