"Dangerous: The Double Album" by Morgan Wallen - first review in 2021! [English Version]
Hey 😉
2021 is already a few days 😁 I hope this year will be much better than the previous one. First of all, I would like the ubiquitous pandemic to end and we could all function normally again without worrying about our own health 😊.
Morgan Wallen began his music career with a performance in The Voice in 2014. He released his debut album "If I Know Me" in 2018. His latest album "Dangerous: The Double Album" was released on January 8, 2021.
The CD consists of 30 songs (2 CDs of 15 songs):
1. Sand In My Boots - I like the intro of the song and the calm musical arrangement. It is a nostalgic piece where the narrator remembers a girl he once met.
2. Wasted On You - you can hear an interesting musical arrangement here. A piece in which the narrator regrets the loss of time, money, etc. on a failed relationship.
3. Somebody's Problem - Nice guitar sound at the beginning of the song. The words are catchy. I really like this song.
4. More Surprised Than Me - I like the musical arrangement. In the song, the narrator alludes to the fact that people quickly judge someone by their appearance.
5. 865 - nice musical arrangement. The narrator tries to forget a girl, but fails. Personally, I can listen to this song all the time.
6. Warning - very interesting intro, as well as musical arrangement. Another song where the narrator "tells" about meeting a girl.
7. Neon Eyes - cool musical arrangement. The narrator warns a girl in love with him not to trust him.
8. Outlaw - This is a duet with singer Ben Burgess. Although I didn't notice the difference between the artists' vocals and I got the impression that the song was sung by one person. I like the guitar sound you can hear in this song.
9. Whiskey'd My Way - a piece in which the narrator talks about how he coped after breaking up with his beloved.
10. Wonderin 'Bout The Wind - I like the musical arrangement and the sound of the musical instruments in this track.
11. Your Bartender - another song about breaking up with a loved one. The words are catchy.
12. Only Thing That's Gone - this is a duet with the famous country artist Chris Stapleton. The singers' voices complement each other perfectly. I love the guitar sound in this song.
13. Cover Me Up - I like the calm musical arrangement of the song. A nice change from the previous songs.
14. 7 Summers - 2nd single promoting this album. I like the musical arrangement you can hear here. The song is nostalgic as the narrator wonders if his old girlfriend mentions it. Personally, I could listen to this track over and over again.
15. More Than My Hometown - this is the 1st single promoting the album. I really like this song.
16. Still Goin Down - a cool song with a calm musical arrangement. The narrator says that he is not ashamed of where he comes from.
17. Rednecks, Red Letters, Red Dirt - I like the musical arrangement. The narrator in this piece misses his home.
18. Dangerous - I like this song, especially the way the artist sings the verses. Even though this is (another) song about a failed relationship, the musical arrangement makes it not boring.
19. Beer Don't - a cool, energetic song. I really like the sound of electric guitars that can be heard here.
20. Blame It On Me - energetic musical arrangement. The song is about how someone can change another person.
21. Somethin' Country - another energetic composition with a nice musical arrangement. However, I don't really like the way this song is sung.
22. This Bar - I like the calm intro of the song. Each of us has a favorite place where we like to be.
23. Country A$$ Shit - cool composition with catchy words.
24. Whatcha Think Of Country Now - another track with catchy words and energetic arrangement.
25. Me On Whiskey - interesting intro of the song. In this song, the narrator persuades his girlfriend to change plans for the evening. It is definitely a love song.
26. Need A Boat - interesting intro of the composition. The musical arrangement resembles country songs from the 90s, especially the musical instruments used here. The words are catchy.
27. Silverado For Sale - I like this composition in terms of the musical arrangement. Great guitar sound.
28. Heartless (Wallen Mix Album) - this is a remix of a track that the artist recorded with the famous DJ Diplo. I like this song very much.
29. Livin 'The Dream - an interesting musical arrangement. The narrator presents the other side of being famous and living your dream.
30. Quittin 'Time - I like the musical arrangement. This is a breakup song.
It was the first time I listened to Morgan Wallen and his songs. Honestly, at first his voice irritated me and I wanted to stop listening to this album. But with each song I got more and more familiar with him. An advantage for the artist is that he is a co-author of some compositions. Rarely there are albums with so many songs and if it was an album such as Tim McGraw, then I would be happy with so many songs. But in this case it is too much, especially since in some songs only the words change and the arrangement is the same. Although there are a few songs on this album that delighted me: "7 Summers", "More Than My Hometown", "865", or "Silverado For Sale" and many others.
I rate this album: 4.6 / 5.
