"I've been turned by a Gemini" - new album by Keith Urban (My Review) [English Version]

Hey 😉

I decided to write what I think about Keith Urban's new album "Graffiti U", which was released yesterday. Honestly I really like this album. I wrote about this artist once that he is not afraid to mix different musical styles or create interesting musical arrangements for his songs. This album confirms my opinion. Each song is composed differently and that's what I'm looking for in new albums. However, I would not call this country, because the singer has significantly departed from this genre.

The album consists of 13 songs:

1. Coming Home - it is a duet with Julie Michaels and the current single promoting the album. The artist used here intro from his favorite song "Mama Tried" by the great musician Merle Haggard. I had to listen to this song several times before I liked it. What I like the most is the musical composition, which in my opinion is interesting

2. Never Comin Down - Keith's voice in the verses of the song sounds quite different than usual (maybe even sensually and sexy). In general, the song is optimistic and energetic in my opinion.

3. Same Heart - I think it's one of the best songs on this album. I like when a song tells a story
or about feelings. That's what I found in this song. The music arrangement fits this song perfectly

4. My Wave - the artist performs it with the musician Shy Carter. It is a connection with rap. Generally, I think that this song is not bad. However, I think there were definitely better songs that
could be put on the album

5. Parallel Line - the song was released earlier. In this song, the singer's voice sounds different at first, but he sings as usual in the chorus. I really like the sound of guitars in this song. One of my favorite songs about love.

6. Drop Top - Keith Urban performs this song with singer Kassi Ashton. I like this division in singing, that the musician sings the verse and the Kassi chorus. Thanks to this the song is not monotonous. I think it's the perfect song for the summer, parties, etc

7. Way Too Long - a composition similar to the singer's song "Tonight I Wanna Cry" mainly through the sound of the piano, but the difference is obvious. In this song other instruments are used and in the mentioned song you can hear only the piano.

8. Horses - a duet with artist Lindsay Ell. Musically a song similar to the country genre.
Personally, I like it very much.

9. Gemini - I think this is the best song from this album. The words are catchy and the musical arrangement is great. I can listen to her all the time. I hope that the artist will choose this song for the next single.

10. Texas Time - I like the music composed for this song and the way the artist sings. I can say that this song is typical of the country genre.

11. Love The Way It Hurts (So Good) - a nice song that tells about old love. The composition has an interesting musical arrangement.

12. Female - the earliest released song as a single. I love this song since I heard it for the first time. I can even say that it is a song praising a woman. I like the chorus the most.

13. Steal My Thunder - reminds me of the song "Wasted Time" from the artist's last album. I think it was possible to record another song on this album.

Summing up, listening to this CD you can see that Keith Urban is not afraid to combine different musical genres. I also like the fact that the artist invited less-known artists to cooperate. I really like diversity on new albums and that's what I found in "Graffiti U"

Although not all the songs on the album I liked it I give 4/5

I encourage you to listen to this album 😀
