"The Mountain" - brand new album by Dierks Bentley (My Review) [English Version]
Today I have a good day because I passed 2 exams at the university. I thought it would be worse, but luckily it worked 😁
In this post I would like to share with you my thoughts about the new album of Dierks Bentley "The Mountain", which was released today (08.06). Honestly, I'm not a big fan of Dierks, but I like this album very much. I think that this CD will repeat the success of the previous album of the artist "Black" (2016).
"The Mountain" is the singer's ninth studio album. The CD consists of 13 tracks:
1. Burning Man - it's a duet with other country musicians Brothers Osborne . I like the intro, which is used here. In general, the composition is very energetic and I like it. The voices of Dierks and Brothers Osborne fit together perfectly.
2. The Mountain - I was most impressed by musical arrangement. You can hear different guitar sounds here, which I like very much. The song was co-composed by the artist
3. Living - I personally think that this is one of better songs from this album Not only because of the musical setting, which is great. Also because it raises an important topic - life. We live in a hurry and stop turning to simple things.
4. Woman, Amen - 1 single promoting this album. A song praising a women. It's worth paying back for a great music clip created for this song. I love this composition especially the beginning
5. You Can't Bring Me Down - I think the song isn't bad, but it's not my favorite.
6. Nothing On But The Stars - in my opinion it's a great song. I really like the musical arrangement and the voice of the artist in this song. I think that the composition should become the 2nd single of this album
7. Goodbye In Telluride - this is not typical sad song about breakup. The artist showed that the ending of the relationship can be differently composed song and I like it
8. My Religion - I love the instruments used here. This track shows that Dierks also finds himself in quiet compositions (almost acoustic). A beautiful song about love
9. One Way - another song about the relationship between a woman and a man. Overall, the song has potential, but somehow didn't convince me
10. Son Of The Sun - a nice musical arrangement, especially the sound of guitars and percussion
11. Stranger To Myself - I personally think that this is the best song from this album. The musical setting and artist's vocal fit together perfectly. A composition tells how true love can change a person for the better
12. Travelin' Light - a duet with Brandi Carlile. This track reminds me of a typical country song. Brandi's voice sound amazing.
13. How I'm Going Out - I like the musical arrangement, but also the topic of this song.
Listening to "The Mountain" at the beginning you can get the impression that the musical arrangements of the songs are similar. However this isn't (my opinion) and I like it in new albums. Of course there are songs that I don't like, but the artist also recorded compositions, which are great. As I wrote at beginning I'm not a die - hard fan of Dierks Bentley, but this album and his previous one make me change my mind about the singer.
I rate this album at 4.5/5
