"Getting Good" - the new EP of Lauren Alaina is full of different emotions (Review) [English Version]

Hey 😉

In this post I will write about the new EP of the Country artist Lauren Alain "Getting Good", which was released on March 6, 2020. The album consists of 6 tracks:

1. In My Veins - I like the intro of this song, where you can hear the cool sound of the violin. The song refers to the singer's attachment to her hometown.

2. Getting Good - this is the second single promoting the EP. I think it's one of the better songs on this album. The artist's voice is very moving. It is worth paying attention to the music clip in which Lauren performs with Gleb Savchenko - her dance partner from the American version of Dancing with the Stars (she took 4th place).

3. Somebody Else's Problem - this is a song about breaking up. However, Lauren presents it a bit ironically and metaphorically because she compares her ex-boyfriend to an old car that she got rid of.

4. Ladies In The 90's - this is one single promoting the album. I love this composition. Thanks to her, I learned that the artist is only a year older than me 😁😂. But seriously I like this song because of the references to artists from the 90s, among others: Britney Spears, Faith Hill, Spice Girls and many others. Cool memories are back. I also like the musical arrangement of the song.

 5. Country In Me - nice music arrangement. Words are very catchy. Musically, the composition differs from previous songs.

6. The Other Side - a beautiful song that Lauren wrote in tribute to her deceased stepfather. You can hear the artist's touching voice here. In my opinion this is the best song on this album.

When information appeared that Lauren was working on a new album, I was very happy because I like her songs. Although I prefer listening to artists from the 90s, the artist interested me with her voice and interesting songs, e.g. Pretty or Doin 'Fine from her album "Road Less Traveled" (2017). "Getting Good" in my opinion is an interesting combination of music genres: Country and Pop. Although there are only 6 songs on the EP, each of them "talks" about something different and what I really like is that different musical arrangements were used and thanks to that the album is not boring.

I rate this EP: 5/5.

Ps.
On the occasion of International Women's Day, I wish all Ladies (and myself 😄) all the best, make your dreams come true and have a nice day spent together with your loved ones.

JP.
