"Out Of Sane" - Clint Black's new album which is... monotonous (Review) [English Version]

Hey 😉

Clint Black began his musical career in 1989 when he released his debut album "Killin' Time", which gained platinum status. His subsequent albums also achieved the same status or gold. The singer's previous album "On Purpose" was released in 2015.

In this post I review the artist's latest 13th studio album "Out Of Sane", which was released on 19 June 2020.

The album consists of 12 tracks:

1. Hell Bent - I like the song intro. It reminds me a bit of country songs from the 90s. Great sound of electric guitar.

2. My Best Thinkin' - I like the musical arrangement you can hear here. Without a doubt, the composition can be considered a love song.

3. America (Still In Love With You) - this is 1 single promoting this album. It is a patriotic song in which the artist "confesses" his love for his country.

4. With Love With You - I like the musical arrangement. Another love song.

5th Everybody Talkin' - this is a cover of Fred Neil's song, which he wrote and recorded in 1966. But it was Harry Nilsson's 1969 version that made the song a hit.

6. Found It Anyway - an interesting intro of the composition. It is a "story" of a man who found love without knowing he was looking for it.

7. A Beautiful Day - this is a positive song which "says" that it is worth appreciating moments.

8. Down To It - finally, some change from previous songs. Interesting musical arrangement. It reminds me of country songs from the old days.

9. The Only One - interesting intro. Nice sound of musical instruments used here. It is a sad story about a missed chance for love.

10. Can't Quit Thinkin' is a cool musical arrangement and the lyrics are catchy.

11. Find Myself - I like the sound of the harmonica at the beginning of the composition. You can write that this is a typical Country song from the 80s and 90s.

12. What I Knew Then - an interesting and more energetic musical arrangement.

The advantage of this album is that all compositions from this album were co-composed by Clint Black, which proves his great musical abilities. It is worth mentioning that several tracks were also written by Steve Wariner - a well-known country music artist. Unfortunately, I have to write that while listening to this album... I was bored because almost all the songs sounded (to me) the same musically. Personally I like the sound of electric guitars, but there was too much of it here. I was hoping for some variety in the songs but unfortunately I was disappointed. It's a pity, because Clint Black is (in my opinion) a really great artist and guitarist, but he should also show something different in his music.

I rate this album as 3/5.
