"The Singin' Hills Sessions, Vol. I Sunset" - the new EP by Billy Ray Cyrus (My Review) [English Version]
Hey 😉
I have great news for Country fans: Billy Ray Cyrus released on January 31, 2020 a short album with new songs called "The Singin 'Hills Sessions Vol. I Sunset".
The EP consists of 3 songs:
1. I Am... I Said - this song was originally written and recorded by artist Neil Diamond in 1971. I really prefer the BRC version more than the original. Emotions can be heard in the singer's voice, which makes the song more touching.
2. Killing The Blues - for the first time you can hear it on Billy's album "Thin Line" (2016). This is a duet with the musician Shooter Jennings (son of the legendary artist Waylon Jennings). The song reminds me of Country songs from the 80s-90s. I like the use of musical instruments that can be heard here.
3. She Always Goes - in my opinion this composition is great and I can't stop to listen to it. The song reminds me a bit of songs from the artist's previous albums, e.g. "She's Not Cryin 'Anymore" from the album "Some Gave All" (1992) or "One Last Thrill" from the CD "Storm In The Heartland" (1994).
I am very happy that the singer released this album, which in my opinion could have more songs 😁. The discussed EP is significantly different from the previous album "The SnakeDoctor Circus" (2019) in a positive sense. The songs mentioned above reminded me why I liked this artist and his music. You can see that the artist has returned to the beginnings of his musical career with a musical style. I hope his next album will be in the same tone as this one. It's also worth writing that Billy Ray Cyrus won 2 GRAMMY awards this month for "Old Town Road" (Remix) with Lil X Nas (new Pop singer / rapper) 👏👏.
I rate this EP at 5/5.
JP.
