"Here On Earth" - 25th Birthday and brand new album by Tim McGraw (Review) [English Version] [UPDATE 29/08/2020]
Hey 😉
Yesterday (21/08/2020) was a special day for me because I turned 25 year old 😲😲😁. I don't even know when this is happen 😂. I was going to spend this day differently, but the pandemic thwarted my plans 😕. However, as they say, there is nothing bad that would not turn out to be good. The second reason that this day was special for me was Tim McGraw's new album 😍
"Here On Earth" is the artist's 16th studio album (15 solo albums and 1 joint album with his wife Faith Hill). The last solo album released by Tim is "Damn Country Music" (2015).
The album consists of 16/18 tracks *:
1. L.A. - interesting intro. The musical arrangement, in my opinion, is similar to that used in films from the past. Without doubt this is a love song.
2. Chevy Spaceship - an interesting introduction to the composition. I like the musical arrangement change, especially the moment you can hear the guitars.
3. Here On Earth - I think this is one of the best songs you can hear on this album. He is looking for an answer to an probably eternal question: why are we here on Earth.
4. Damn Sure Do - I like the musical arrangement and the slow pace of the song. Plus, Tim's engaging voice makes you want to listen to this song all the time.
5. Hallelujahville - this is a song praising life in the hometown. Each of us probably wanted / or dreamed of living in a big city, but the sentiment to the place where we grew up still remains (that's my opinion).
6. Good Taste In Women - Unlike the previous songs, this composition is energetic and the lyrics are catchy.
7. Hard To Stay Mad At - I personally love this track. I like the musical arrangement used here, and you can hear the emotionality in the artist's voice, it's a love song. It is worth adding that one of the composers of the song is Lori McKenna, the author of Tim hit Humble And Kind from the album "Damn Country Music" (2015).
8. Sheryl Crow - nice start to the song. A reference to the famous country artist Sheryl Crow appears. The narrator compares his infatuation with the girl to the first time he heard the song performed by the aforementioned singer and could not forget it. So this song can be classified as a love composition.
9. Not From California - I like the musical arrangement. It is undoubtedly a nostalgic song, and Tim is a great with showing emotions.
10. Hold You Tonight - this is another composition that I love. Even though it is the next love song, the lyrics and the musical arrangement mean you can listen all the time.
11. 7500 OBO - Here you can hear a nice intro. Unlike the previous songs, this is about a failed relationship and the narrator wants to sell a car that reminds him of his ex-girlfriend. OBO stands for: or better offer. It is worth noting that there is a reference to Tim's song Where The Green Grass Grows from the album "Everywhere" (1997).
12. If I Was A Cowboy - honestly this song is not bad, but somehow I didn't like it. You can hear a nice guitar sound at the end of the song.
13. I Called Mama - this is the first single promoting the album. This song is very touching. I think this is one of the best compositions you can hear on this album.
14. Gravy - for me this is another touching song that you can listen to all the time. I also like the musical instruments used here.
15. War Of Art - I like the calm musical arrangement you can hear here. Tim McGraw shows that he is great at such compositions. It is worth noting that the song was co-composed by The Warren Brothers, longtime friends of the artist. Together with Tim they wrote the song If You Reading This from his album "Let It Go" (2007).
16. Doggone - you can hear a nice musical arrangement here. It reminds me a bit of country songs from the 90s. In my opinion it is a nostalgic song, but you can listen to it all the time.
17. Truth Is ** - in my opinion it is a beautiful song about unfulfilled love, with a calm musical arrangement (great sound of guitars). The artist's voice is very poignant, which makes you want to listen to this composition all the time.
18. Cutting Onions ** - I like the intro of the song. The musical arrangement reminds me a bit of songs from the 90s. It is the kind of song that, despite its inconspicuous title, presents a moving story. Tim McGraw himself said that this composition reminds him of his childhood, which was not always happy.
You can imagine my excitement when I found out that my favorite artist Tim McGraw was releasing a new album on my 25th birthday. What more could you want ? 😁 And as always, I say that every album released by the singer is the best, this time it really is. I don't know how Tim did it, but he put together great songs that tell separate stories and make the listener think "wow, how real" I had on "Hallelujahville" or "I Called Mama". Another plus is that these songs complement each other musically. Personally, I prefer the second half of the album, where you can hear calm compositions, and Tim (in my opinion) shows his artistic sensitivity very well, all songs deserve attention and I guarantee you will not be disappointed.
I rate this album 5/5.
