"Ain't That Kind Of Cowboy" - Trace Adkins' first EP (Album Review) [English Version]
Hey 😉
Country artist Trace Adkins began his music career in 1996 when he released his debut album "Dreamin 'Out Loud". This album went platinum. The following albums also achieved success: "Big Time" (1997), "Chrome" (2001), "Comin 'On Strong" (2003), "Songs About Me" (2005), "Dangerous Man" (2006). The last album of the singer is "Something's Going On" from 2017.
"Ain't That Kind Of Cowboy" is the artist's first EP was released on October 6, 2020.
The album consists of 6 tracks:
2. Mind On Fishin '- 2nd single (unofficial) promoting EP. Cool song intro. There is a reference to things that are important to Americans. The narrator prefers to go fishing and think about God rather than go to church and think about fishing.
3. Ain't That Kind Of Cowboy - I like the calm musical arrangement at the beginning of the song. The narrator assures his beloved that he is not the type of cowboy to abandon her. It is worth paying attention to the fact that the artist sounds great in such compositions.
4. Big - I really like energetic intro. The song reminds me of the song "Hillbilly Bone", which is on the album of the same title by fellow country artist Blake Shelton from 2010 (it's a duet with Trace Adkins). However, the words make more sense than the aforementioned composition.
5. Running Into You - another calm song. The artist's voice is very touching. It is a piece about a failed relationship and a longing for a loved one. I really like the musical arrangement. In my opinion, this is the best composition on this album.
6. Just The Way We Do It - another energetic song. Great song for a party. The words are catchy.
Trace Adkins's voice is very specific. I mainly associated the artist with energetic, party songs. And on this album you can hear him in such compositions. However, the singer surprised me with his sensitivity in the songs "Ain't That Kind Of Cowboy" and "Running Into You". Personally, I think that such arrangements show his musical talent better.
I rate this album 4/5.
