"The Singin' Hills Sessions: Mojave" - back to writing and new EP by Billy Ray Cyrus (Review) [English Version]
Hey 😉
It's been a long time since I wrote on the blog, despite the fact that several new albums appeared in the Country music genre 😀. However, recently I have not been eager to take and write something. Personally, I am of the opinion that you should not do something against yourself (in this case, write reviews about albums when you just don't feel like it 😅).
But today I decided to review Billy Ray Cyrus 'newest album "The Singin' Hills Sessions: Mojave", which was released on November 6, 2020.
1. Mama Said Knock You Out - interesting intro and musical arrangement. It reminds me a bit of a song by the singer "Geronimo" from the album "Storm In Heartland" (1994).
2. Ghost Dance - I like the intro of the song and the musical instruments used here. The artist's voice in this composition is moving. In such songs Billy Ray Cyrus shows his vocal abilities the most (in my opinion).
3. 99 Single Wide - the way of singing reminds me of the song "He's Mine" from the album "Back To Tennessee" (2009). I like the musical arrangement used here.
4. Holdin 'On - nice intro. You can hear the use of technology (autotune?) Here, but in my opinion it is the best composition on this EP.
5. Good At Goodbyes - thanks to the musical arrangement and the way the song is performed, you can get the impression that you are listening to Country compositions from the old days.
Over the years, you will see that Billy Ray Cyrus is not afraid to experiment with new ways of making music. The artist departed a bit from the typical Country genre, which can be seen in the first track on this album. However, subsequent compositions refer to this kind of music, especially the songs: "99 Single Wide" and "Good At Goodbyes". Personally, I would like the artist to release the entire album instead of the EP, but I'm glad that there are new compositions by him.
I rate this EP at: 4.5 / 5.
